Chinese Culture Center Online Gallery

San Francisco, CA, USA 中華文化中心電子畫廊

Thank you everyone who made it out to the opening on October 23rd. There was enough food to go around...or was there? But I was glad to see everyone come out. People whom I haven't seen in a while. As well as meeting new people. That's what it's all about.
I've been to several funerals and memorials within the last year and it's so bad that it takes a funeral to get a lot of us old friends together. So just having this get together over my art was uplifting.

Everything looks fine....just worried about my 1964 Spiderman comic because it's so small and not really secured to the wall, anyone can rip it off the wall and stick it under their jacket and walk out.

A big thanks to Margo Machida who was the main person that pulled all this together. She saw the under representation of artists in the community from the seventies and on at the bigger deYoung Asian American exhibit that motivated her to seek us out. I remember the very first interview with her over two years ago.

It's great to see people I have known so long who now run the Chinese Culture Center. Albert Cheng whom I've know since the summer of 1969 when he was a supervisor at the Summer Youth Program. Russell Leong, MD, who was a fellow gung fu practitioner with Hung Sing Koon is now the president of the board.

The brochure looks great. Thanks to Choppy for the design work. Nancy and Lenore...they sure hauled ass with the logistics and hanging of this show. I didn't do jack doody but just showed up at the opening.

And of course thanks to all my old friends that showed up. Sorry to anyone if I didn't get a chance to talk to you.
