張梅駒的故事--中國書道傳奇縮影

  愈習慣的事物,我們對其愈不在意,以致不曾凝神用心思考體會。例如:「中國」二字有什麼意義?恐怕中國人很少會深察,外國人就更不用說了。


  據許慎說文「中者內也」;所以,我們說「心中」就是「內心」。人的內在,都有一顆看不見卻靈動活潑的心,這顆心中國人稱之為「仁」。你吃花生的時候,剝開外殼就看見花生「仁」。


  每一個人身上都有這顆「仁」心,許多人會把這顆寶貴的仁心當花生給吃了,卻不知道這顆「仁」是可以發芽成長茁壯的,儘管發芽成長必須經歷一段非常艱辛困苦的階段。


  張梅駒一生熱愛中國書道,他在筆墨紙硯的水墨世界裡,像一個自由的孩子,專注認真又快樂忘情地玩著黑與白的元素,任由想像自由飛翔,他的仁心在書道之中自然流動,隨著墨色的濃淡明暗、筆鋒的曲折飛舞,心之仁轉萌為意之芽,透過不同的形式,或篆或隸、或行或草,運行奔騰。那是一種無聲的自我對話,也是中國傳統文化一次又一次的生動映照。


  中國,不是中央之國,更不是折中之國;中國,是心靈美麗的仁義之國,她的文化哲學是「仁」,每一個子民行事講求「中庸」,就是「用中」,就是「發此無量仁義之心靈」,就是「盡心」。中國傳統哲學強調仁慈而不柔弱,重視站在別人的立場感通情理,己立立人、己達達人。這種哲學精神或曾被專制政治扭曲為模糊不清的意識,但根深柢固的文化價值,其實依然牢牢的影響著這個民族的子民。我們欣賞張梅駒的書道作品時,其實正在審視著這個柔中帶剛、動中含靜、知白守黑的生命態度,並與這一千年古老哲學之樹相親相依。


  「張」是引弓而長,引弓是為了射箭,射箭必先反身而正,身正、輔弓以弼,身得其正、弓得其正,然後置箭於弦「中」。所以,弓的發音有「中」韻,任此仁心滋長發榮,就是「張」。


  「梅」有傲骨。中國人常常說「畫梅畫骨」,梅花綻放在冰雪之中,幽香淡雅,孤芳動人。每一朵梅花就像一個善良可愛的中國子民,而民族文化的精神就是這顆千歲老梅,蒼勁猷健、傲立天地。


  「駒」行千里,是龍之動。「龍」就是「能」,這種力量未形成之前,是一種欲望潛存於人心之中,聚之成龍、行之如馬。所以中國人講「龍馬精神」,而欲望就是「豬」,故小說中有「朱悟能」之喻。其心可欲,行仁而已。


  所以,你愈瞭解中國文化,可能就愈瞭解自己,這是與己相親。懂得與己相親,才懂得欣賞張梅駒的書道,品味其中的滄桑與簡潔、自由與堅持。

Contemporary Art, Community & Public Space: Present Tense Panel Discussion Part 1


With the great success of the Center’s biennial exhibition, Present Tense 2009: Chinese Character, in collaboration with Kearny Street Workshop, we would like to engage the community in a casual, lively, and fun panel discussion regarding the relationship between contemporary art, community building, and public space as a venue for the arts. Among other topics, we will discuss the impact on artists, the community audience, and how exhibitions like Present Tense can bring new and provocative energy into the public scene.
