I, Hai-ying, Wang Cheng (王海婴)was born in Shanghai, China. By the encouragement of parents, I studied under the guidance of several excellent instructors from childhood, and attended Shanghai Art and Crafts College in excellent grade. As my major was Art Design, I became an Art Designer in Shanghai Business Co. after graduated from College.
After left Shanghai for California, USA in 1991, I managed “Saratoga Arts” store and continued to devote myself to both traditional Chinese painting and western genres. My outstanding and skillful works have been exhibited in some other art shows, art museum and art galleries.
My classical Chinese paintings were not only came from my keen consideration, a lot of sketches, and my rich experience of Chinese painting skill, but also included some etchings of western modern art. Via a specific vision and brushes, I tried to express
my admiration to Nature, such as figures, plants, and birds in my paints. I used the skill of western art to treat my works’ background, and the delicate skill of traditional Chinese painting to color the main objects. The familiar practice of both kinds of skills made my works appearing a deep and harmony intention.
My works were selected in “Taiwan Chinese Paintings & Creative Contest Exhibition”, 1997; “China Art”, 2000; “American International Air Exhibition”,2000 and 2001; “Chinese Art Association Exhibition” 2007; also received many other awards.
